Working Towards Growth and Equity

At the Lake Oswego and West Linn Chambers of Commerce, we are working together towards equitable growth for all women owned small businesses. We want to ensure that everyone has the same opportunity for success. As part of this initiative, we have created a curated map specifically designed to help you discover these amazing women owned establishments in your local area.

Our mission is to provide business resources and recovery support that will aid in business development and growth. With the Wander Willamette campaign, you can explore locally and support these small businesses! Our goal is not only to encourage more people to shop local but also to reward them with prizes like gift certificates when they do so. So grab your passport today and join us as we support our local women owned businesses. Together, we can create a stronger community and brighter future for everyone!

Support Local Women Businesses in Lake Oswego and West Linn

It's now much simpler to support companies run by women. From home design to beauty must-haves, this list has everything you could possibly need.

It's incredible that women have only been able to vote since 1920. Over the past hundred years or so, we've gone a long way, and that's mostly because to the trailblazing women who have excelled in their industries and ultimately improved gender equality. We still have a long way to go, though, given that there is still a significant gender wage difference in the workplace and that the epidemic has mostly undone the progress that women have gained in recent years. To promote a large portion of the economy, level the playing field, and our community, it’s essential to support women-owned businesses.

The Future of Women in Our Local Business Community

In recent years, that kind of support has made a significant difference. Now accounting for 42% of all enterprises in America, women-owned businesses are catching up to male-owned businesses. But there's also some bad news: According to the National Women's Business Council's most recent report, just 10% of those companies have employees, and as of 2020, venture capital funding for companies with female CEOs was less than 3%, while less than 0.2% of funding went to women of color.

It's often claimed that through spending money, we vote every day for the kind of world we desire. We've gathered 100 women-owned businesses—many of which are also Black-owned businesses—to support throughout the year because who and what we give our money to matters. We will begin to witness the shift that ought to have occurred a long time ago if we shop with purpose. Additionally, you'll discover some incredible goods along the way that are sure to become favorites of yours, whether you're shopping for yourself or searching for the ideal presents.
